Hello, Barrett Families!  

I have loved every moment of being part of this awesome school community and am thrilled to be returning to Barrett for my third year as principal. Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and dedication to Kate Waller Barrett Elementary. Our school is the best in Stafford County because of YOU!

I began my career as a Special Education teacher at Colonial Beach High School in 2009. In 2011, I was extended the opportunity to teach closer to my home in Fredericksburg and landed in 5th grade at Lafayette Elementary School, where I remained until transitioning into administration as assistant principal of Yowell Elementary in Culpeper in 2018. I had the pleasure of serving as AP at Widewater Elementary in Stafford during the 2021-2022 school year and am so fortunate to have been embraced by this wonderful SCPS family. Quality educational experiences are extremely important to me and to my family. My husband Cameron is also an educator; currently, he is a high school ESOL teacher in Prince William County. Together we enjoy traveling throughout the country and beyond to immerse ourselves in different cultures and traditions. We are committed to being lifelong learners and will always be students first.

I truly believe that we are strongest when we work as a team in support of our scholars and I am so grateful for the opportunity to continue to partner with you as we look forward to another amazing school year ahead. Together, we will ensure that Kate Waller Barrett serves and supports our scholars, staff, and families by maintaining a safe, supportive, inclusive, and loving environment for ALL.

I can’t wait to begin a brand new year with our scholars, staff, caregivers, and community members both new and returning. I am honored to be leading this outstanding team of educators and am committed to being at my best each and every day for you and your children.

Mrs. Veronica Fair, Assistant Principal

  Hello Kate Waller Barrett Friends & Family, 

  I am returning for another amazing year as Assistant Principal at KWBES. I am originally from Hampton,        Virginia. As a military wife, I’ve loved the opportunities I have had to touch children’s lives around the            globe, and am delighted to have returned to my home state of Virginia and pay it forward to where it all            began  for me. I started in education as a School Counselor and from there pursued the role of Assistant            Principal. My husband, Tommy and I can often be found on long walks, enjoying time at the beach, or              visiting one of our three amazing children (J.T., Tommy, and Chasity) at their respective homes. 

I am so excited to welcome everyone back to another great school year at Kate Waller Barrett! I hope you are rested, rejuvenated, and ready for the amazing educational journey that awaits us. Whether you are a returning family or joining us for the first time, I am thrilled to have you as part of our school community.  At Barrett, we believe that education is not only about acquiring knowledge but also about fostering creativity, critical thinking, and character development. Our dedicated team of educators is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
